SUNDAY MORNING.

gillet: sportsgirl
jacket: dotti
top: witchery
leggings: river island
shoes i love billy (old)
bracelets: diva

Just another easy and comfortable outfit today. I was out and about looking at travel gear which is an absolute nightmare. The whole idea of buying the gear I need gets me flustered so after a few hours of looking around I was tired and fed up. I did manage to buy a travel pack which is a good start. A good, sturdy (and nice looking if it's not too much to ask) walking shoes are next on the list. If anyone has any recommendations - I'm a size 36 - please let me know. The outfit. I loved this faux fur gillet leather jacket combination over winter so it was nice to throw it on again today as these last few chilly days may be the last for a while.

DISCOMBOBULATED.

jumper: witchery
top: witchery
leggings: river island
shoes: i love billy (old)
bracelets: diva

A quick outfit post today as there really isn't much to say about it again. This Witchery jumper has been my go-to jumper through winter. I absolutely love it and will be sad to see it go into the back of the wardrobe over summer. I popped it on over the top of this long sleeved top and I really like the way the white peeks out. I couldn't decide which necklace to wear this morning so in the end I gave up and didn't wear one and thought I'd wear these bracelets instead. Popped out to sushi train for lunch today, which you'll have seen if you follow me on instagram (@rebeccabrittle) and spent alot of the afternoon looking at blogs (leave me a link to yours below!) and mooching around the house. The weather is wet and windy so I really don't feel bad about spending the day inside doing nothing.

SKULL STUDDED.

tunic: dotti
skirt: asos (old)
bracelets: dotti, sportsgirl, diva
sandals: river island

I know, I know, I swore I'd never wear bodycon again in this post, but here I am wearing a bodycon mini. I've had this mini skirt from ASOS for a few years now so it's a little bit more relaxed and loose fitting, and so it really doesn't feel as bodycon-ish as it looks. I was tossing up between this skirt and these shorts this morning and eventually went with the skirt as I really liked the way it looks with the tunic and the sandals. I think I'll wear this combination alot over summer as this skirt is one of the only mini skirts that I don't feel weirdly naked and uncomfortable in. I guess I've just worn it enough not to worry about that anymore. I was having a bad hair day today and shortly after taking these pictures I gave up and it's now up in a messy topknot.

NEPPY TEE.

neppy tee: topshop
leggings: river island
necklace: diva
flip flops: factorie (old)

A quick outfit post today as it's quite a basic outfit. I'm the queen of basic tee's at the moment so it was a given that I'd order this neppy tee as soon as I saw it on Topshop's website. I love how it fits and I love the light grey colour and the little dark flecks through it. There really isn't much else to say about my outfit today unfortunately. I outfit repeat, and I wear lots of basics, especially when I'm studying, and get stuck on outfits for weeks at a time but I want my blog to remain true to who I am and what I wear so I hope it doesn't get too boring.

TUESDAY.

t-shirt: sportsgirl
gillet: sportsgirl
leggings: river island
necklace: sportsgirl
flip flops: factorie (old)

Today is one of those not quite hot enough for no jacket, but cool enough to need another layer days so I popped my faux fur gillet over my new Sportsgirl peplum t-shirt. There isn't really much else to say about today. I shopped, baked, tidied, and blogged. I have had a lovely break, but as the end of the semester looms into sight I really need to get my butt back into study mode. This will be the final few weeks of my degree and while I'm excited to graduate, I'm also sad that these will be the last days of being a student. Speaking of being a student, I better get back to those tutorial questions.

SUNDAY.

top: sportsgirl
leggings: river island
necklace: sportsgirl
flip flops: factorie (old)

I popped into Sportsgirl the other day and came out with this gorgeous top and necklace. I've been on the prowl for a basic grey t-shirt for ages now, but haven't had any luck finding that 'just right' one. I did see THE perfect one on Topshop's website but it sold out before I could place an order. I saw this one in Sportsgirl and I knew it would be the one the moment I laid eyes on it. It is seriously everything I love in a basic t-shirt. Loose fitting, little capped sleeves (great for work as we can't have bare shoulders) and is long enough to cover my bottom when I'm wearing leggings. I've loved peplum since it first hit the shops, but I didn't really like the way it looked one me - I've been shying away from tight fitting tops in favour or looser fits. This top is more of a relaxed peplum fit and I absolutely love the way it fits.

I also picked up this necklace after lusting over my housemate's last week. It ties up at the back so it can be worn shorter or longer which I love as I'm very particular about where necklaces 'sit' with different outfits.

SATURDAY.

jacket: misguided
t-shirt: sportsgirl
leggings: river island
necklace: sportsgirl
nails: opi 'kiss me on my chic'

I told you I'd be living in this outfit. The weather was cold again on Saturday so I swapped my shorts for these ponti leggings from River Island, but kept everything else the same. You've seen it before (most recently here) so I won't ramble on about it too much. I was inspired by a friends ballerina pink shellac manicure so spent a good half an hour at the OPI counter tossing up between every since ballerina pink shade them have - they have loads! I didn't want anything too pink, more of a natural shade, shades which I'll be favouring over summer. In the end I choose 'kiss me on my chic' which is a light (three coats in the pictures above) ballerina pink. I tend not to wear alot of nail polish in summer - when it gets too hot I can barely be bothered to eat, let alone sit still for half an hour to paint my nails - but if I do it's usually an earthy, natural, close to nude shade.

FRIDAY.

jacket: missguided
t-shirt: sportsgirl
shorts: supre
necklace: sportsgirl
flip flops: factorie (old)

I'm glad that Monday morning is here and I can sit down and relax after the insane few days I've had. Most weeks I have nothing planned during the week, but come Friday I'm running around like mad. Life, why you no spread yourself out evenly?

I love this outfit and could happily live in it for the rest of the S/S season. In fact, I probably will end up living it in. It's comfortable and easy to wear, but still good for those quick trips to the hardware store or the shops. The jacket is perfect for sunny-but-not-quite-hot-enough-for-no-jacket days too. I hate those days when it's not cool enough to not wear a jacket, but any jacket (especially leather sleeved jackets!) clings to your arms in the heat and makes you feel gross and sticky! Even though it was quite sunny and warm (I think it got to 27 degrees) I was really comfortable in the jacket.

I was cheered right up from my I-hate-everything-in-my-wardrobe mood when my Topshop order arrived on Friday morning too - yipee! Now that the sun is out more and the mercury is hitting 25+ daily, I looked at my favourite things from last S/S and am not feeling inspired by any of it so it was nice to get a few new things. That's all that I'll be getting, a FEW new things.

TRIBAL.

dress: asos
necklace: river island
shoes: river island
It's amazing how accessories can change the look of the total outfit, isn't it? This necklace is from River Island, and typically, I didn't really like it when it first arrived. I was having one of those feel-like-I-must-wear-this-but-don't-know-why days this morning and just felt that I had to wear the necklace and now, surprise surprise, I like it. I like how it makes my whole look very tribal, which is a trend that I never thought I would get into. I like to keep things simple and to me, tribal is a mish mash of prints, textures and colours, and very very loud. Very not me. Blogging has really helped me take bits of pieces from trends (some that I never thought I would like or wear!) and work them into a selection of favourite out fits. Whenever I'm having one of those don't know what to wear days I hit a few of my favourite blogs for inspiration. Thank-you guys!

I was lusting over these sandals at the start of the UK summer and almost bought them online. For whatever reason (I think I was lusting over a few similar styles from a few other stores and didn't know which ones to get) I didn't buy them but stumbled upon them a few months later in the River Island sale. They were an absolute bargain (a third of their original price!) and will be my staple sandal this summer. Chunky 'man' sandals are starting to hit the stores here now so I am super happy that I managed to snap these ones up when I did. That is the advantage of living in Australia - what is on sale in the UK is what is going to be 'trendy' here in the coming season.

CANDY BUFFET.

jacket: dotti
dress: asos
necklace: diva
shoes: myer (old)
nails: essie 'off the shoulder' and sportsgirl 'all that glitters'

This is what I wore to the Barkins store launch last night. I instragramed (my handle is rebeccabrittle if you want to follow) a quick snap of this outfit but didn't get to blogging it as when I got home I pretty much jumped into bed with my bag of candy. I'm going through an I-hate-everything-in-my-wardrobe phase at the moment and spent ages starting into said wardrobe looking for something to wear. In the end I went for this dress (which you can see me wearing here too) which I'm loving at the moment. Flippy, flowy dresses were never my style when I was younger - I always stuck to bodycon dresses, and two years ago I'd call a flowy dress too 'girly' for me. But now, I cringe at bodycon and would honestly rather go naked than wear it. This will probably all change again in a year or two. Fashion eh? I absolutely love these biker boots, and paired with my pleather jacket they give the outfit the right amount of edginess for me. Sort of girly meets grunge meets neon.

PLEATHER SLEEVES.

jacket: misguided
t-shirt: sportsgirl
leggings: river island
necklace: sportsgirl
flipflops: factorie (old)

I love the leather sleeve trend. I like the contrast between the light denim and the dark pleather in this jacket, and look of the two different materials together. The denim breaks up the black and white without being too over the top. I wore this jacket with a white t-shirt and these river island disco pant dupes and I really like the minimalist grungy look of the outfit. I've always shyed away from denim jackets because I never really knew what to wear them with and generally don't wear alot of denim either, but the pleather sleeves make this jacket easier to style and wear. They're also half length sleeves which I really like as I'm forever pulling up my jacket sleeves (more so now that the weather's slightly warmer) and it tends to stretch and ruin the sleeves of all of my jackets.
